Finland is the superpower of Virtual & Augmented Reality development

Finland’s leading Virtual and Augmented Reality studios come to life in the coming weeks. The Finnish Virtual Reality Association (FIVR) and Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation published their massive report of Finland’s VR/AR industry on November 21st. After that the X Reality Day will be a part of the leading startup event SLUSH on the November 30th.

Finland has one hundred VR/AR development studios

Finland is well-known as being a game development superpower. This still holds true, but some of these superheroes have moved to Virtual and Augmented Reality space. In fact, Finnish Virtual Reality Association (FIVR) has already found there to be over 100 VR/AR studios in Finland. These studios are presented in the industry report. The Tekes-funded survey of the Finnish VR/AR scene with statistics, companies and all the players involved will be available in PDF format on November 21st and can be downloaded at

X Reality Day brings together the best players in VR/AR
A Nordic XR accelerator, Nordic VR Startups, is organizing X Reality Day on the November 30th at SLUSH, Helsinki. The event will gather the best VR/AR startups, investors from Silicon Valley, Asia & Europe, C-Level Executives, key media and industry experts under one roof. It brings together the early adopters of the new technology to present the latest innovations within virtual and mixed realities.

An important part of the event is the pitches and demos from each team attending the Nordic VR Startups’ accelerator program – expect the best Nordic virtual and mixed reality scene has to offer.
